We work with students in all areas of writing . . . ​

For most, writing is a difficult skill to master.  In fact, Language Arts and even History are subjects that are often graded subjectively, which can diminish confidence and suffocate interest.  

 

I will work with the student to augment grammar skills that will lead to more confidence in varying sentence structure and in writing with confidence.  I will boost vocabulary, which will inevitably translate into a more mature way of writing.  I always stress the importance of editing and proofreading, insisting that if the student cannot understand what he or she is trying to communicate no one will.  

 

With permission, I will even reach out to teachers in order to enhance communication and to uncover the most critical areas in which the student needs to work.  I want to encourage students to fight for themselves and to communicate their concerns to their teachers more assertively.

Find Your Voice

Beth is wonderful!! My daughters began working with her during middle school, when Beth helped them build strong writing skills and understand the basics of grammar -- things that were lacking in the school curriculum. They continued to work with her through high school, including ACT prep and the college application process. With Beth’s help, my girls achieved high AP English and ACT scores. Additionally, the college application process went so smoothly, and was actually fun for both girls as they loved working with Beth. Beth is the best tutor, mentor, counselor, college consultant, confidante and friend in one. She has been instrumental in my daughters’ achievements and successes, and we are so very thankful she has been such a central part of our lives!
